When you take a photograph, it is actually a projection of a 3D scene into a 2D plane. Thus, taking a photograph causes you to lose a lot of information about the initial object of your photograph. Meshroom is a free software available on Linux that allows you to reconstruct this information. Indeed it is a photogrammetry tool allowing you to reconstitute in 3D series of photographs but also to realize photomodeling.
The principle is simple, in order to digitally reconstruct in 3D a physical object from a series of photographs, the software will make comparisons in order to find converging and diverging points. From these differences, it will then calculate the position of the points of agreement in a 3D space. This will result in a point cloud that you can convert and adjust to reconstruct the initial object in 3D. Many other possibilities are also possible thanks to this application which is offered free of charge.
You can now Meshroom from the link we provide you with.
