The year 2020 has just begun but the news around Microsoft and Windows is multiplying. Now that Windows 7 is off the radar, it’s Windows 10’s turn to catch the eye. As every year, Microsoft’s operating system should receive two updates this year. The first is expected to arrive during the month of April and is code-named 20H1. Today, a few rumours give some clues about the next one.

The Fall 2020 Update is expected to be released in October or November depending on Microsoft’s progress and is code-named 20H2. According to the information obtained by the WindowsLatest site, the latter should be a minor update bringing essentially patches and slight improvements.

Microsoft should therefore reproduce the same pattern as the year 2019: an update in the spring that would concentrate the vast majority of the year’s new features, then an update in the fall that would focus on improvements and corrections. WindowsLatest adds that Microsoft plans are subject to change. Indeed, it is possible that some new features planned for the next update may be postponed to the next update.

In any case, we can expect a year 2020 similar to 2019 for the Windows 10 program. Currently, the Insiders are already testing Windows 10 20H1 in order to track down the last issues before a potential release in a few weeks.
